About the Commissioners

The three-member, at-large Commissioners of the East Flagler Mosquito Control District govern the District. Commissioners are elected for a 4-year term during the General Election by qualified electors residing within the District. The East Flagler Mosquito Control District Board is non-partisan. Vacancies to this board are appointed by the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture. The Board is responsible for representing the community, setting the millage rate, approving the budget, overseeing expenditures, selecting the director, and ensuring that the director and staff are fulfilling the District’s mission.

Commissioners are compensated $400 per month for serving on the Board. The compensation is set by Florida Statutes 388.141.
